Real Life Weddings at South Lodge

How did you both meet and how did the proposal occur?

We met through friends 13 years ago, we have been together 9 years and got engaged in the Cotswolds last year.

What did you love most about South Lodge?

It was the whole package for us. The food, the South Downs Wing, the accommodation and the spa! We could make it into a 3 day celebration with our friends & family.

Did you have a theme or particular style for your day?

We wanted to go for a neutral, sage and gold theme. We had a great team of suppliers to transform the venue into my vision board! With the help of Jamie at South Lodge and my on the day external wedding planner Samantha Sell – I couldn’t have done it without them and the countless meetings and emails !

Tell us all about the dress...

It took countless different dresses and months of searching to find my dream dress – square neckline & sparkles! Love in Lace Bridal helped me find the perfect Elysian Bridal dress.

What do you remember most about the day itself?

It went so quickly but we had the best time, everything went perfectly & we are so happy with how it all went. It was so much fun.

Were there any special moments or surprises during the planning or on the day?

We couldn’t have wished it to go any better. We had a few quirks to the standard wedding day, we had a U shape set up for the wedding breakfast, live music all day, a champagne tower and sparkler cannons in the evening.

What tips or advice would you give to future couples?

Have fun, enjoy the planning – we had numerous trips to South Lodge to meet with Jamie and took advantage of the amazing facilities to stay for a drink or lunch in the spa! A photographer, videographer & photo booth are a must, it really helped capture all the moments we are going to want to look back on!!
