Real Life Wedding at Pennyhill Park

We both met in House of Fraser Guildford 10 years ago, the time has gone so fast! Ben proposed in Milan on the 4^th September 2019 which was the most amazing day.  

We visited Pennyhill around November time in 2019 and knew instantly that was the venue for us. We really wanted a Christmas wedding and as soon as we drove up to the Hotel it felt so Christmassy! The venue itself is so stunning and all our guest commented on how impressive it looked on the day, not to mention how incredible the spa was the following day. From our first meeting with Jodey she put us at ease and nothing was to much trouble this goes to all the staff at Pennyhill including Ella who was with us on our Wedding day. Jodey has been so tremendously helpful over the last 2 years and so understanding, Ben and I cannot thank the team enough for everything. Our special day was just perfect and we wouldn’t change a thing! We really hope we get to spend our First Anniversary at Pennyhill next Christmas.   

We had a Christmas theme but didn’t want to go too crazy with Christmas, We supplied our own decorations in both the ceremony and reception rooms which worked perfectly with Penny hills own decorations around the hotel, We had lots of candles and fairy lights everywhere including Christmas trees and pre lite twig trees to create a magical setting. We had great fun getting the rooms all set up and wanted all our guests to feel Christmassy! We are so thankfully to our family and friends for helping with the setup we couldn’t have done it all without them! 

I loved my dress! I went very simple with a fitted dress with a long train and a little embellishment at the front. I had a beautifully long veil which I loved which had ivory piping around the edge. I knew when I tried the dress on that it was the one. I didn’t want to take it off!   

We just remember how special it was to have all our loved ones there, seeing everyone enjoying themselves, smiling and having fun it just meant everything to us. We felt so incredible lucky that we finally got the day we had spent the last 2 years planning, we really didn’t want the day to end.  

There were so many special moments throughout the day. My dad seeing me for the first time was just incredible and a moment I will never forget. He had been thinking about giving me away for the 2 years and it was so special. When I first walked into the ceremony room and first locked eyes on Ben I just couldn’t stop smiling, He looked so handsome and we just couldn’t be happier. My brother did a little speech before the Best man speech which was so lovely as no one knew he was doing one! Our little flower girl Millie loved the dancefloor she joined Ben and I towards the end of our first dance, she had the best time!  

Enjoy every minute it is so true what everyone says the time just goes so fast. Try to not stress about the small stuff as on the day it really doesn’t matter. Try and take in every moment as there is so much going on. The staff at Pennyhill Park couldn’t have done more for us and made it completely stress free, Ella looked after us on the day and was so brilliant!
